Invited Lectures/Classes before my appointment at the University of Ioannina

1984-1991: Classes and lectures in the in-service training of the Departments of Pharmacology and Psychiatry, University of Ioannina and Department of Neurology, University of Patras.

1990-1993: Co-organizer and teacher in the in-service training of the Mobile Mental Health Unit of Fokis, in the context of the Postgraduate Program on Social Psychiatry organized by the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Thrace, Greece, with which the Mobile Unit co-operated.

21.1.1994: «Psychiatric Care in the Community». Invited lecture for the 4rth year students of the Medical School of Thessaly, Greece.

12.5.1998: «Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy», Invited lecture for the 5th year students of the Medical School of Thessaly, Greece.

Teaching after my appointment at the University of Ioannina

Undergraduate teaching

  1. I formally teach Psychiatry in our medical students (2002-today).
  2. I organise and teach the course ‘Psychosomatic Medicine’ in our medical students (2008-today)
  3. I taught the course ‘History of Psychiatry’ in our medical students (2006-2007).
  4. I supervise the clinical training of medical students (2002- today).

Post-graduate teaching

Since 2002 I participate regularly in the Post-graduate Program in Social Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry organised by the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Ioannina. I also provide supervision to the programme’s students who are training in clinical psychiatry in our psychiatric wards.

I am a member of the scientific Committee of the Post-graduate Program in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry: “Integrate Physical and Mental Health” organised by the Medical School of the University of Athens, Greece.

Teaching at the Department of Psychiatry

  1. Training Program Director of the Educational Programme of the Department of Psychiatry and of the Training Programme of the Senior House Officers between 2002-2006, 2009-2010, 2012.
  2. I participated in the organization of the Training Program of the nursing staff of the Department of Psychiatry (2004-2005).
  3. I participate in the Teaching of the nursing staff of the Department of Psychiatry.

Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Unit

I organised, supervised and co-ordinated the Training Program of the C-L Unit (2006-2010) of which I was Director.

Mobile Mental Health Unit

I organised, supervised and co-ordinated the Training Program of the Ioannina-Thesprotia Mobile Mental Health Unit (2006-2010) of which I was Director.

Supervision

  1. Weekly supervision to the staff of the Consultation-Liaison Unit (2006-2010).
  2. Monthly supervision to the staff of the Corfu-Lefkas Mobile Mental Health Unit
  3. Weekly group supervision to the Senior House Officers of the Department of Psychiatry

  5. Weekly supervision to the staff of the Mobile Mental Health Unit of Ioannina and Thesprotia while I was the Director of the Unit (2006-2010)

Psychodynamic Supervisions

  1. Weekly Psychodynamic Supervision and Training to the Senior House Officers, Psychologists, Nurses and Postgraduate Students of the Department of Psychiatry (2006-2010).
  2. Fortnightly individual supervision to the Mental Health Professionals (Psychiatrists, Senior House Officers and Psychologists) of the Psychodynamic Department of the Institute of Mental Health in Kalithea, Athens (2003-2005).

Psychodynamic Psychiatry

I organised and co-ordinated the seminar ‘Introduction to Psychodynamic Psychiatry’. The courses were held fortnightly and were based on G.O. Gabbard’s book “Psychodynamic Psychiatry in Clinical Practice”, which was published in Greek by BETA publications in 2006 (translation under my supervision by the team I leaded) (2004-2006).
